There are sometimes oddities with the paths Lr stores since the HFS+ system on Macs uses different conventions than on Windows, but it's usually not an issue, and a simple reconnection with the images solves it.Apple Photos. And only one should synch with a publish service (like if you use a publish service to sent images for Flickr don't try it on BOTH the laptop and desktop). Note that even though you can use two iterations of Lr only one can synch with Lr Mobile. If not, what do I need to be careful of to make this work? But you can get inexpensive software to change that see It is true that NTFS is read-only outta the box on macOS. There are some different ways to do it, but one is to export a catalog with the "negatives" or original images. Is that true? Or is that something of the past?

Will this work without any problems? I've read somewhere that you cannot write files from a Mac OS sytem to an NTFS (Windows) drive.
I intend to import them and the "field catalog" via an SD card/USB drive into my main PC catalog in order to preserve the work done in the field and continue it at home Workflow will be as follows: images will be directly stored on the MacBook Pro (because tethered), and somewhet edited/processed. I'm looking to buy a laptop for field work (mainly tethered shooting), and a MacBook Pro is one of the options I'm considering My main catalog is there and will stay there I'm a long time PC user and use Lightroom on Windows at a home desktop. but I was actually facing a similar (but reversed question) right now: TL DR: you can't buy a PC or Mac version of Lr it ONLY comes as both. So since you can only buy Lr in BOTH PC and Mac you can install, and activate it, on any combo of the two on two separate machines.

It's kinda tough to see in the EULA because it doesn't specifically mention this virtually all other Adobe stuff is sold either for Mac OR PC, not both, like Lr. That same thing works with the CC Plan you can legally use it on both your laptop and desktop, and they can either be both Macs, or both PCs, or one Mac and one PC.

Lr is different than other software (although not mentioned specifically in the link above) that Adobe makes in that they sold one disc with PC and Mac versions, and the activation code worked on either or both.
You can run Lightroom on both a Mac and a PC using the same license (but not at the same time IIRC). If you have a MacOS copy of Lightroom then to run it on a Windows laptop you have to buy a Windows copy. However they do have to be the same operating system either Windows or MacOS. You can run your copy of Lightroom on both a laptop and a desktop but not at the same time.
